Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has been appointed Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister.

Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin has been appointed Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president, replacing Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shein.

Opposition MPs have accused Deputy Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Willie Mongin of making an obscene gesture in the Dewan Rakyat as the sitting was adjourned to make way for another bloc vote.

Fahmi Fadzil (Harapan-Lembah Pantai) and Kasthuri Patto (Harapan-Batu Kawan) took to their social media and posted about the alleged incident.

They accused Willie of showing his middle finger to the opposition MPs and demanded Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun take action.

Willie denied the matter.

The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has decided that no further action will be taken against Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Khairuddin Aman Razali for breaching the compulsory Covid-19 quarantine order, according to Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Huzir Mohamed.

Huzir said the investigation papers were sent to the AGC and the instruction was 'NFA' (no further action) because the minister was not provided with the 14B form to undergo quarantine."

Based on the absence of any "concrete statement", he said the AGC decided not to charge the minister.

The Attorney-General's Chamber (AGC) has instructed the police to take "several more actions" over their investigation against Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Khairuddin Aman Razali.

Federal CID director Huzir Mohamed said investigation papers were returned to the police by the AGC and the police hope to complete the process soon.

Khairuddin was probed for violating quarantine orders after returning from Turkey in July.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said top ministry officials were in the dark about Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali's violation of home quarantine rules until last week.

An internal investigation into the series of events following the minister’s July 7 return from Turkey has since been completed and shared with the police, who are probing the issue.
